The Erckman Family has been creating fine jewelry and importing diamonds and precious gems since 1928. 

George Theophile Erckmann came from France to Chicago via Boston and the story began. George Charles Erckman continued the family business with his exquisitely discerning eye and talented craftsmanship while treating customers like family. 

The legacy continues today with sisters Barbara and Linda (George C's daughters) who, after graduating from college, earned their in-residence Graduate Gemology (G.G.) degrees at the Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A) in Santa Monica, California and New York subsequently becoming industry experts in gemology and fine jewelry fabrication. The same impeccable quality jewelry manufacturing and personal service continues today. While some of our products are sourced from European vendors and varied sources worldwide, much of our line is made right here in Chicago at our workshop or one of our contracted factories. This enables us to offer exceptional quality control, expedited turn around time and competitive pricing. 

Our distinctive line ranges from classic to cutting edge one-of-a-kind designs. Our CAD (Computer Aided Design) program offers you the ability to create your own design while providing 3-D design sketches for your approval before fabrication. Our talented bench jewelers can repair or maintain almost anything, including delicate pieces requiring skilled laser work. We carry some estate pieces and offer consignment opportunities as well.

We also carry several interesting designers who have met our standards with products consistent with our brand and quality criteria. Our search is ongoing for interesting and unique pieces we find during our travels worldwide and at the many trade shows we attend annually.

Many of our clients are third or even fourth generation, some who bring in pieces that our grandfather or father have made. The business has surely changed since our grandfather sat at his bench setting diamonds and hand-fabricating heirloom jewelry.
